We have a number of announcements this week including:
- An important update to Medicfusion's Terms of Use
- A navigational change to the Add Payors page
- A Calendar view tweak
- And a much-requested enhancement to the spin-up of patient calling lists in the Medicfusion Messaging Module.
Medicfusion's Terms can be found in the footer of every Medicfusion page. Click Terms to open and then scroll down to a new sub-section titled, "Copyright Protection." You will find federally required language and protections for all copyrighted material. This is particularly important if you are using Custom Forms, Outcomes Assessment and any other forms that you generate from Medicfusion. Not only do we have an obligation to protect copyrighted forms that may be licensed for use through our site, but you do as well. Penalties for infractions can be very expensive, therefore, Medicfusion strongly urges you to read through the Terms of Use and look at your internal procedures for any possible violations needing correction.
Upgrades!
Two small changes have been made to the Add Payors page. Visit any patient's billing profile and click Add Payor to see these changes in action. After saving a new payor to a patient record, you now will auto-navigate to the Assign Payors page. Note that the Save and Cancel buttons look a little different than they did previously. This is part of an ongoing change to make Medicfusion easier to use on mobile devices. Once you land on the Assign Payors page, please take the time to make the payor assignment. This is very important and soon, in the next round of related upgrades, will be a required step for eBill customers.
Next, let's look at an interim tweak made to the Calendar to give you the option to display multiple appointments booked into the same time slot OR to display provider columns. Soon, this will be enhanced further to automatically display multiple same-time appointments simultaneously, much like the Google calendar. Meanwhile, click to open the Month, Week or Day View, then click Settings to set "Display day view events in provider columns" to yes or no.
Finally, let's take a look at how to spin up a manual patient telephone calling list from the Medicfusion Messaging Module. From the Messaging tab, select Voice & Text Messaging. Next, click any of the data harvesting tools to spin up your custom patient list. If you are a subscriber to the Medicfusion Voice & Text Messaging Module, then you will have the option to create a message or to download a calling list. If you are not a subscriber, you cannot create a message but you can click the Download button to spin up a manual telephone calling list in .xls format.
This concludes this week's upgrade tutorials. To watch last Wednesday's Re-training Boot Camp session on video, please visit your left nav and click Medicfusion University, then find the video behind the Videos tab. And please be sure to register for Medicfusion Re-training Boot Camp held every Wednesday at 1:00 Eastern. This week's session will feature Advanced Scheduling Strategies. Hope to see you then!
